Back in the 90s, Sears came out with an advertising campaign aimed at educating consumers about its various product offerings. “Come see the softer side of Sears.” It was an effective message that addressed the misconception that Sears is only a store for “hardware.” It reminded us that Sears isn’t just a place for washing machines and tool chests, but a place for ‘softer’ items like back-to-school clothes and bed linens.
At FORMost, we find ourselves in a similar predicament in that our greatest challenge is communicating to our clients just how many solutions we provide. We aren’t your “check printer,” your “t-shirt guy,” or your “mail house.” We’re all of those things and many more.
As a solutions company, FORMost is dedicated to marketing our clients’ products and services, whether it be through print, direct mail, promotional products, or creative services. According to the American Marketing Association (AMA), marketing is defined as the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large.
In simpler terms, it’s about moving goods or services from a producer to a consumer. Marketing is a passion of ours and we really enjoy the process. But, there’s something you should know about us… sometimes we cheat on marketing.
Being a company born in traditional print, we have areas of expertise 30 years in the making that allow us to provide products used by virtually every division of the company. We print checks for Accounts Payable, MICR encoded forms for Operations, labels for Quality Control, and envelopes for Purchasing. These items aren’t snazzy product brochures or retail signage, but if you ask us, they are “marketing,” too. They all relate back to the movement of goods or services from the producer to the consumer, right?
Because we work with all departments, we often find ourselves being a watchdog for marketing in this sense. We know your brand, we have the most up-to-date version of your logo on file, and we’re not afraid to raise a flag if we see something that is not consistent with your message.
Through this blog and the efforts of our sales reps, we’re aiming to do a better job at educating our customers about our various solutions.
