First, November is finally here, and that Thanksgiving, one of the most significant holidays of the year is right around the corner. This season is one of generosity, as many people look for ways to give back to their communities. It is also a great time to highlight 7 amazing causes that we are proud to support. The Heather Baker Foundation
Located in Spring Grove, PA, the Heather Baker Foundation is a treatment funding and support organization for individuals and families battling cancer and other terminal illnesses. It started in memory of our friend, Heather Baker, who died of breast cancer in 2010.
Children’s National Medical Center
The Children’s National Medical Center is a pediatric care center in Washington DC that serves the general health and special needs of kids in the area. It is the 5th best children’s hospital in the nation.
The Treatment and Learning Center
TLC is a treatment center dedicated to helping individuals with special needs in Montgomery County in Maryland. They provide education for special needs children, as well as training and job services for adults with special needs.
Special Olympics of Maryland
The Special Olympics of Maryland is an organization that offers sports and athletic training to children and adults with intellectual disabilities. While it is likely best known for the yearly competition that they run, Special Olympics of Maryland offers year-round support to any individuals who need it.
The Montgomery College Foundation
The Montgomery College Foundation is an organization that provides private scholarships to hundreds of students at Montgomery College. In the 2017-2018 year, they granted over 2.3 million dollars in scholarships to over 1800 students.
Boulder Crest Retreat
Boulder Crest is a treatment center and rehabilitation retreat in Bleumont, VA that treats wounded veterans and their families. They are committed to serving military service members as well as first responders in their physical, emotional, spiritual, and financial needs.
T.A.P.S.
T.A.P.S, which stands for Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, is an organization out of Arlington, VA. They are proud to offer care and compassion for anyone grieving the loss of fallen military personnel.
